History

In 1993 Slackers - Music, Movies, and Games was born in downtown Columbia, Missouri, on the corner of Broadway right smack dab in the middle of Middle America. Not just a record-store and not just a game-store Slackers has the novel notion that people love music, movies, and games equally and so there needs to be a store to cater to them.

Slackers' staff is packed with media aficionados who pride themselves not only on customer service but also on product knowledge. Slackers offers the opportunity to Try Before You Buy, where customers are able to play any video game and listen to any CD to see if they really like it before they make a purchase.

The idea was a success. Slackers has expanded throughout the Saint Louis market and has enjoyed continuous growth across the Midwest.
